Terms of Service

MiLuv is an iOS app built and operated by an individual developer (“I”, “me”). These Terms of Service are a legal agreement between you and me. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them and the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use MiLuv.

Your use of the App Store is also governed by Apple's terms.

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. Don't use MiLuv on behalf of anyone else without their knowledge and agreement.

• Use a real email address and keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
• One account per person. Don't create accounts to impersonate someone or to get around a suspension.
• Tell me promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account.

You agree not to:

• Connect with, or try to connect with, anyone who has not freely chosen to share their distance with you — including through pressure, deception, or a shared device.
• Use MiLuv to stalk, harass, threaten, or monitor a current or former partner, or anyone else — including by using nudges to pressure or harass them.
• Use an offensive, misleading, or impersonating display name.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, probe, or interfere with the app or its servers, or try to access data that isn't yours.
• Use MiLuv for anything unlawful, or in a way that could harm MiLuv or other people.

MiLuv only shares a distance when both people have connected and each has chosen to share their location. Either of you can turn off location or unlink at any time, and the shared distance is then deleted for both.

The only thing you provide that another person sees is your display name. By setting it, you give me permission to show it to your connected partner for as long as you're linked. You keep ownership of your name; you're responsible for it being appropriate.

When you send a nudge, your partner receives your name and the message you picked from MiLuv's ready-made set. You can't write your own nudge messages.

If you add a photo, your linked partner will see it. Only upload a photo you have the right to use, that you're comfortable sharing with them, and that isn't sexual, violent, hateful or otherwise inappropriate. You keep ownership of it and give me permission to store it and show it to your partner while you're linked. You can remove it anytime. To report a photo or other abuse, unlink and email me (below).

I may remove a name or other content, or restrict an account, if it breaks section 4 or is reported as abusive.

MiLuv is free to download. MiLuv Pro is an optional in-app purchase that unlocks extra features (such as the shared Calendar, the "Until we meet" countdown, and your partner's time and weather). It's offered as:

• Monthly — an auto-renewing subscription. It renews every month at the price shown in the app until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid being charged for the next one. Manage or cancel it in your Apple ID's Subscriptions settings; cancelling stops future renewals, and Pro stays on until the paid period ends.
• Lifetime — a one-time purchase that keeps Pro for as long as MiLuv is offered.

One purchase covers the couple. While you're linked, your partner also gets Pro. If you unlink, the person who bought it keeps Pro and the other partner loses it. If the buyer cancels a monthly subscription, Pro ends for both of you when the paid period ends.

All purchases are processed by Apple under its terms, charged to your Apple ID, and refunds are handled by Apple. Prices may vary by country and may change; a change never affects a period you've already paid for.

• You can stop using MiLuv anytime and delete your account from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account, which removes your data and ends your partner's connection.
• I may suspend or permanently close an account that breaks these terms, that I'm required to remove by law, or if running MiLuv becomes impractical. Where reasonable and safe to do so, I'll give notice.
• Sections that by their nature should survive termination (4, 6, 9, 10, 12) continue to apply.

MiLuv is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. The service depends on third parties (Apple, the hosting and push providers, your network and device) that are outside my control.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or inability to use — MiLuv, from reliance on the distance or notifications, or from another user's conduct.

Where liability cannot be excluded, my total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for MiLuv in the 12 months before the claim, or ₱500, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted.

I may update the app or these terms. If the terms change materially, I'll update the “last updated” date and let you know in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use MiLuv after that means you accept the new terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be handled by the courts of the Philippines, unless a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings there.
