Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using BuzzBee (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using BuzzBee, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
1. The App
BuzzBee is a smart alarm clock app that wakes you within a chosen time window, starting gently and building to full volume by your deadline ("Wake Window"), or at a fixed time, and requires you to complete a short dismiss "mission" (math, tap, shake, clap, or a sustained sound) to turn the alarm off.
2. Important: Alarm Reliability Disclaimer
Please read this section carefully — it matters for an alarm app.
BuzzBee is built to be as reliable as the underlying mobile operating system allows, but it has real, honest limitations you should understand before relying on it for anything important:
- Background and killed-app behavior. BuzzBee uses Apple's AlarmKit framework so your alarm can ring reliably — full volume, through Silent mode and Focus — even if the app has been fully closed (force-quit) by you or the system. This applies to the whole alarm, including a Wake Window's gentle start, not just the hard deadline. A backup system notification also exists as a defense-in-depth fallback, and may use a different (quieter, non-looping) sound than your chosen alarm tone if it is ever the one that fires.
- Do Not Disturb, Silent Mode, and system settings. Depending on your device's settings, certain modes may reduce or silence alerts. We recommend testing BuzzBee's behavior with your specific device settings before depending on it for anything time-critical.
- No guarantee of waking you up. While BuzzBee is designed with a hard-deadline fallback specifically so it never rings later than the time you set, we cannot guarantee, and do not warrant, that the App will wake you under all circumstances (for example, extremely low device volume, a malfunctioning device, an operating system bug, or a fully depleted battery).
You are responsible for testing BuzzBee's reliability on your own device before relying on it for anything where oversleeping would have serious consequences (e.g., a flight, an exam, a medical appointment). We recommend keeping a backup alarm method for anything truly critical.
3. License to Use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use BuzzBee on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except where applicable law permits it.
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its underlying systems.
- Copy, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the App or its content (including sound assets) outside of normal personal use of the App itself.
5. Permissions You Grant
To provide its features, BuzzBee may request permission to access your device's microphone, motion sensor, calendar, and notifications. These are all optional except where a feature you've chosen to use requires them, and you can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings — see our Privacy Policy for exactly what each permission is used for.
6. Your Content
Alarms, settings, and wake history you create in BuzzBee stay on your device. We do not claim any ownership over this data, and we do not have access to it, because it is never transmitted to us.
7. Intellectual Property
BuzzBee's name, logo, design, and software are owned by us (or our licensors, in the case of third-party assets such as bundled sound effects, which are used under their respective licenses) and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of the App to you beyond the limited license in Section 3.
8. No Warranty
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will wake you up under all circumstances (see Section 2).
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE APP — INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE APP FAILING TO WAKE YOU AS EXPECTED. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
